Getting ready for the Firestone Indy 300. . .

On Wednesday morning Matt called me from work.  The conversation went something like this,
Matt:  "Hey Honey! So, you want to go to an indy car race on Saturday?"
Me: "Uh... (long pause plotting what I could say to get out of something that I already knew he wouldn't let me get out of)  *got it* what's an Indy?"  Now, I'm not that dumb.  I know damn well what an Indy car race was- I just couldn't think of something I'd rather do LESS than go to a race, on a SATURDAY, after running 10 miles, in a heat wave, on a LOUD RACE TRACK. :-(  boo!!

Then Matt put Kateri on the phone.  She promised that it would be awesome and that I'd get some good blogging material out of it. When she said we would work around my running schedule I knew I had to go.

We went to Walmart and picked up snacks and some random things.
1. chips
2. deans french onion dip (oh yeah- the REAL fatty kind)
3.  Red Lable Red Wine (novelty purposes only).  It tasted like a mix of coke, cough syrup, and kool-aid.  *shudder*

4.  a t-shirt for Matt  I was going to stick with my bud light lime t-shirt form the St. Louis Brewery.

5.   I saw the worst tie ever and couldn't resist taking a picture.

WHO on EARTH would wear a tie with 2 random little girls on it?? Cartoon kids- great, cute, Save the Children! REAL PICTURES of kids that AREN'T YOURS?  Not ok.

*shudder*

Then it was off to the races!
:-)
