*yawn*
Matt and I usually do long runs on Saturday. He will go around the neighborhood when he wakes up and I'll meet the running club on the beach at 6:30. I had a workshop on Saturday so we didn't have time to get in the long run. We decided we would do it on Sunday and Matt planned a great route starting in Hollywood and running along the boardwalk and back. We woke up at our leisure (7:00) and didn't get to the running zone until 9. Big. Mistake. By 9:00 it was already 92 degrees with 88% humidity and we still had to do a long run. Some of you have already asked me, "what's it like to run that long?"
Let me show you!
Mile 0:
notice how happy and dry we are?
Mile 1:
SO much energy!!
Mile 2:
the intercoastal waterway.
Mile 3:
I was starting to notice the heat
Mile 4:
nice view!
Mile 5:
cute dive shop!
Mile 6:
srsly, we were so overheated. I could have bathed in the ice cream.
Mile 7:
I may *look* a little refreshed- I had just stopped for a cup of ice and dropped it all down the inside of my shirt. This was the hottest I've been- ever- even after hot yoga.
Mile 8:
let me rest a little...
Mile 9:
*death is surely imminent*
Mile 10:
must.lay.down.
can't.wait.for.pool.
We made it! We will never wait to start a long run again. Lesson learned. After getting home we dove in the pool and ordered a pizza. That was followed by a 2 hour nap and lots of water.
That's what 10 miles looks like!
:-)
I am so proud of you! 10 miles is a long time. I am not an early person, but luckily it's not nearly that hot here!
ReplyDeleteThat was great! I could never run 10 miles.
