"Sit."
"Watch me."
"Come here."
"Leave it (alone)."
"Aa Aa."
"Stay."
"Good boy (girl)."
"Hey!"
I actually caught myself clapping my hands and saying "Aa Aa Aa" to a particularly rowdy third grade class last week... methinks I need a break. :-/
I know this is just a temporary thing. Bevo has been very good lately. He's obedient, for the most part, and still working on his new tricks. He can sit, watch me, lay down, drop it, leave it, and is learning to come. He's getting better on his loose leash walking daily.
What he ISN'T doing is behaving around other dogs. He is so stressed when he hears or sees another dog that he can't handle it at all. He has this intense stare that we have a hard time breaking. We've been working SO hard with him and then Sunday happened.
Sunday Night:
Our neighbor does not keep her dogs on a leash. The sandy colored dog goes in her backyard and sneaks through the fence. While we walk Bevo the dog gets out and runs at us. Bevo gets stressed and barks, the dog runs, it's a mess. This has been going on for about 2 weeks.
The other dog, Buddy, ran out of their house, on to OUR porch where we were coming back from a walk, growls, snaps, barks, and initiates a fight. Bevo fights back and loses. He comes in the house and has been anxious for days. This is NOT helping Bevo's dog issues. The trainer has given us tricks but the fight really set him back. That dog is peeing all over our yard and Bevo can smell him. >:-( The neighbor actually said, "I don't know why your dog isn't friendly." I replied, "he's learning" instead of saying what I really wanted which was something like
Dear Neighbor,
LEASH YOUR DOGS AND DON'T LET THEM ON OUR YARD!!!!!!!!!
kthxbye,
the berra's
>:-(
Advice?? They are nice neighbors... I don't want to be mean... ARGH!!
