I got up Saturday morning at 4:30 to go get Kateri and meet up with the running club. *yawn*
As I pulled up to her apartment at 5:50ish I see 2 girls teetering in their high heels and short dresses with two "gentlemen" obviously just getting in from the clubs. Honestly, I felt so old... lol! Kateri and I laughed as they were just getting in as we were just getting up. In Miami we play a lot of games like that, "real or fake," or "getting in or getting up?" It amuses us. :-)
I was excited to run with Kateri as she got the Garmin 305 forerunner for an early Christmas gift! IT WAS AWESOME! It tells you your pace, heart rate, elevation, and will beep if you go off your target. She printed out the results and set it to me later in the afternoon. It's FANTASTIC! Not only does it track that stuff it also tracks your mileage... I was in for a shock.
I had to do 16 miles for my marathon training plan on Saturday. It was going to be my first time over 14 miles which has been kicking my butt 2 weekends in a row! Kateri and I were trucking along and the group started turning around. "Wha? Why are they turning around so early? We still have at least another mile to go before we turn around" I said to Kateri. WRONG! Turns out I've been doing 16 miles every weekend for the past month (except for 1 sweet 9 miler). I've been overshooting the turnaround point! D'oh!! Well, at least I wasn't undershooting. :-) I had been wondering why it was talking me soooo long to make it those "14" miles. So, I feel ready for next weekends 18. *shudder*
Remember- I'm raising money for diabetes: any contribution helps!
Happy Sunday!
:-)
You are a rockstar! Seriously, the thought of running 1 miles makes my head explode but 16....
