You heard me right- not swimming (for once) but skimming!
Matt and I have a rule, he's in charge of the outside and I'm in charge of the inside. We help each other with chores in both areas but the person in charge gets the final say. It's working so far. Matt is away this week so I'm taking care of the outside chores. He misses pool. :-(
Today I came home and noticed that the pool was a little dirty. The bottom was fine but the top needed a good skimming. I reluctantly dragged myself off the couch and slipped on my flip flops to do the dreaded chore of the day.
Yeah- the dreaded chore- turns out not so bad. Therapeutic even! Who would have thought? Well I guess you might have thought that I'd like something like that. My temperament an obsessive nature would lend itself to enjoying skimming the muck, grass from the neighbors yard, unfortunate beetle, leaves, etc... off the top of crystal clear water. It is instant gratification! I love instant gratification!
I wish there was a way to skim the muck off of our beings at the end of the day. Maybe I need a mental exercise where I visualize the specs and remnants of the day being swept off of me with a giant skimmer net. . .
or
Maybe Matt needs to find a new job in the pool!
:-)
I hate vacuuming and cleaning floors, so I would never be able to keep up with a pool!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I could sell it as therapeutic to my DH.
